For the past two months we’ve been gearing up for a month-long journey. We’ll also be investing in a few days in Lesotho, that’s the very elevated country on the continent. We’ll be posting Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram updates out of our trip so that you won’t miss out on lodges and the wildlife we’ll be filming. Hopefully they’ll inspire you to pay a visit to Africa’s southernmost country someday soon.
Here is a fast run down of those destinations we will cover.
From the time you’ll get read this post, I be on my 16-hour trip out of NYC. We’ll stay here 2 nights at the Tintswalo Waterfalls where we will explore the town’s sights and sounds with the support of Joburg Tourism.
Next up is the national park that I have been dreaming of my whole life, Kruger National Park! We will be here for eight days visiting some luxury camps and viewing game. Here is a list of the incredible properties that I will have the opportunity to stay in: Umkumbe Safari Lodge, nDzuti Safari Camp, Africa on Foot, nThambo Tree Camp and Nokana Safari Camp.
After eight exciting days in the wild, we will then fly from Kruger back to Johannesburg to pickup our car courtesy of CarRentals.co.uk to our drive south into Lesotho. We’ll spend four days seeing everything the state has to offer, in the highest pub in Africa, to dinosaur foot prints. We’ll stay at two lodges here: Semonkong Lodge and Maliba Lodge in order to find both areas of the nation.
Next stop: the biggest city in South Africa, Durban. Our digs is going to be the Oyster Box Boutique Hotel and we will be shown round by Durban Tourism.
Next up we will be visiting with an exclusive oceanfront resort called Umngazi River Bungalows, approximately five hours south west of Durban. Here we shall do a lot of water actions and eating a lot of seafood!
Then we will be driving south into Port Elizabeth for one night’s city to recharge our batteries at the lovely No 5 Boutique Hotel.
Then onto the Gondwana Game Reserve to celebrate my birthday and then watch some more amazing African wildlife!
After a few nights on safari we will head into Grootbos Nature Reserve. It’s right out here and of Hermanus we shall be cage diving with great white sharks!
Before entering Cape Town we will stop at Creation Wines try out some wines to see their vineyard and have some lunch.
Along with our final destination would be Cape Town! We’ll be spending five amazing days exploring the town with Cape Town Tourism, heading up to Table mountain and visiting Boulder Beach to meet the resident penguins. Contain the DoubleTree by Blue Views Hilton Upper Eastside and Tintswalo Atlantic.
In all, it all is going to be more than one month of adventure and character. We will film some incredible resorts, crossing a few and changing the way that you visit South Africa and Lesotho!
I wish to thank CarRental.co.uk to your rent a car, BorrowLenses.com for the extraordinary telephoto lenses along with Nicky Arthur PR for helping me arrange this incredible journey!
